Every Parisian knows, from time to time, il faut sortir. Fortunately, leaving Paris for an environment that is completely different is easy and — in winter — cheap. On a blustery, frustrating night in Paris I found an €80 round-trip ticket to Rome via Easy Jet and a cozy hotel room with breakfast around the corner from Metro Barberini for €62 per night. Two weeks later, I am here. Ah, Roma — rainy but warm(er), dotted with palms and orange trees, color everywhere. Color! Paris is too often devoid of it. Now why didn't I move to Italy instead of France? I'm going to contemplate that question over a glass of chilled Frascati. Ciao.
